DSG Remapping

Most will argue that the DSG gearbox is one of the finest auto gearboxes available on the market today. Its ability to change gear in a fraction of a second and predict the drivers next move is a master piece of engineering.

However, like with all OEM systems it can be restrictive. Our custom DSG Remap is designed to remove these restrictions and adjust the settings to compliment the more performance minded driver.

Torque Limiter

When tuning the engine management system, one of the key adjustments involves increasing the torque limiters to allow for greater performance. However, if the vehicle is equipped with a DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox) transmission, the engine’s output may still be restricted.


This is because the DSG control unit also has its own set of torque limiters, which are designed to protect the gearbox from exceeding factory parameters. If these limits aren’t addressed, the engine will be unable to deliver its full potential, as the DSG module will override it to stay within its original constraints.

Quicker Shift Speeds

Shift speeds can be increased by up to 20% through TCU remapping, significantly reducing gear change lag and improving overall acceleration. By optimising the shift timing and logic within the transmission control unit, we enable faster and more responsive gear changes that enhance both performance and drivability.


These quicker shifts not only deliver a more dynamic driving experience but also result in smoother transitions between gears, particularly under load. RPM Limits &

Shift Set Points

RPM limits and shift points can be fully customised in both Drive and Sport modes as part of our TCU remapping service. While adjusting the RPM limiter in the engine ECU is a common aspect of performance tuning, it’s not sufficient on vehicles equipped with a DSG gearbox.


That’s because the DSG transmission has its own control module that dictates shift behaviour, including the exact RPM at which gear changes occur. Without updating the DSG ECU, the vehicle will continue to shift based on its factory-set parameters—regardless of the engine’s new capabilities.


 At Dan Turner Automotive, we align the DSG shift logic with the updated engine map, allowing higher revs where beneficial and ensuring that gear changes happen at the optimal points for performance, responsiveness, and driver engagement.
